Timothy Cavinder for LaPorte County Council At-Large
A Fresh Face to Trackle Local Issues
Who I am
I am Timothy Cavinder, the founder, and president of the Say No to The LaPorte Corridor Foundation. I am running for an At-Large seat on the Laporte County Council. I am a direct descendent of a county pioneer family and I still live upon land that was settled by my family in 1827. I believe these deep-seated roots provide a unique perspective when approaching issues that affect county residents. Having earned a master’s degree in Information Technology I currently teach at Valparaiso University. Married for over 20 years. I reside in a rural setting with my wife and two children along with an assortment of ducks, chickens, cats, and a turtle. I appreciate your consideration.
Why I'm Runnning
One of the main reasons I began the No Corridor Foundation is because like many residents I have a great deal vested in LaPorte County and I feel our citizens deserve a voice in matters that impact them. I am running for Council to support a professional work ethic, fiscal responsibility, and good communication that will accomplish goals while moving our county forward without burning bridges. I do not make promises I cannot keep but I do promise if given the opportunity by the voters I will make an honest effort to do everything I can to make certain the concerns of our citizens are heard.
